Teach for 3

If you talk to most experienced teachers, they’ll tell you that it took them until about their 3rd year before they really felt settled and confident in what they were doing.  Unfortunately, depending on what study you read, between 30% to 44% of new teachers quit the profession within the first 5 years.

The reality is that most new educators have big hearts, a sense of calling, and earnest desire to make an impact. Why else would you sign up for such a challenging, unappreciated, and underpaying profession?

But the first few years of teaching can be so daunting and isolating that new educators feel defeated and incapable of continuing on.  This leads many of these tremendous new teachers to quit on their sense of calling before they even have a chance to hone their craft and experience the impact they are capable of.

Our goal at Teach for 3  is to start to address this problem.  We want to help new teachers navigate those first few years by:

  1. providing community for new teachers to share their challenges, failures, and successes

  2. giving practical coaching that will allow new teachers to build the habits and grow the culture they desire in their classrooms

If you are a new teacher, we want you also to experience what it feels like to hit your stride and realize your potential as an educator.  We don’t want you to give up because you believe the work is too hard or that you don’t have what it takes.  We want to help you Teach for 3 (and hopefully more)!
