Build Habits

We believe the greatest determinants to a successful classroom are the habits and routines you set up for your students and the rhythms you commit to as an educator.

If you’ve ever watched a new house being built, you know the first step is to dig a hole and lay a foundation.  On that foundation, you can then frame the walls, set the trusses, frame the walls, build the roof and many other necessary features. It is only after all these building blocks that the home can be finished inside and decorated.

In the same way, establishing a classroom in which your students are going to flourish and that you are going to enjoy teaching in every day requires you to build habits in yourself and your students that serve as the foundation of your classroom.

We’re not talking about that creative lesson plan you spent hours planning in your university education course or that innovative classroom activity that you saw on social media.  While those are great ways to decorate and improve your classroom, the decorations won’t mean much if your foundation is not in place.

At Teach for 3, we want to help you think through how to build this foundation of habits in your classroom.

We will work with you to:

1) develop habits of consistency to help you thrive as an educator

2) build regular procedures and systems so that your students will know what to expect from you each day

3) establish the classroom management you need so that you can later “decorate”
